Quick Tips to Speed Up Gmail Load Time

A large number of people across the world still use slow internet connections and web pages still take a lot of time to open even on relatively faster browsers such as Google Chrome. Gmail is by far the most popular email service on the internet and is being used by  millions of people across the world to send and receive messages over the internet. But  slow internet connections make the entire online mail experience unsatisfactory. However, we can increase the loading speed of Gmail  by using some very simple and basic tricks and tips.

Tips to increase Gmail speed:

1. Switch to Mobile Mode

If you are only looking for mail text then you can open your Gmail account on your mobile. To open  Gmail in mobile mode, you need to enter the URL as m.gmail.com. Gmail mobile mode works quicker and is easier than a standard web browser. So if you are in a hurry then you can instantly open your Gmail account using the mobile mode.

2. Turn off Chat in Gmail

Google Talk is a much better way to chat with Gmail friends and most people do not use Gmail chat features. While opening the Gmail email account, the chat account opens by default which in turn increases the page loading time. Turn off the Chat by scrolling down to the very bottom of Gmail after you log in and click the standard view without chat link to turn it off.

3. Use HTML Mode

Normally, Gmail offers a link to load Gmail in html mode. It is the best way to speed up the Gmail window. Most of you must be aware that HTML created pages always load faster than the other types of web pages. So you can click on html mode to open your Gmail account rapidly.

4. Show fewer messages

By default, a Gmail page displays 25 messages on a single page but if you have a slow internet connection and are facing Gmail loading issues then you can reduce this limit to 25 and get better speeds on your Gmail account. You can adjust the ‘maximum page size’ option to ’25′ under the General tab in Settings.

5. Use Email Client Software

It is not necessary that you open your Gmail account on browsers always because nowadays, several email client software are easily available for free downloading. You can download and configure these email client software and access your emails directly from your desktop. The most popular email clients are Outlook and Thunderbird.

6. Use less Gmail “Lab Features”

It is true that Gmail lab features increases new features in Gmail but it also slows down your Gmail loading speed. So if you use Gmail for basic purposes only then you can disable or reduce the lab features to  speed-up your Gmail.
