Nokia has recently launched a budget Smartphone in its Asha series named as Nokia Asha 501. The newest member of the Asha family has got the looks of the popular Lumia series. The Asha 501 is now available for Rs 4,899 in India. This mobile phone was first released on the completely new touch interface that is positioned as being a much more nimble as well as focused on recognition of gestures.

The Asha 501 is the 1st Smartphone to run on the new Asha software, which is designed to make the user experience much faster and more responsive. The updated platform of Asha OS resembles from the operating system MeeGo which was seen previously in Nokia N9. The phone is featuring a new home screen– Fast lane that gives you instant access to where you have been, shows running applications, reports and various notifications.

The dual SIM Smartphone features a 3 inch QVGA (320×240) scratch-resistant glass display and a 2 finger multi-touch capacitive display along with a 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus. It does not have a front camera.

The device has an internal storage of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The Nokia Asha 501 also comes with features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, and is powered with 1200mAh Li-Ion battery along with 2G functionality and MicroUSB port.

The phone also comes with pre-loaded apps like some social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, eBuddy, etc. The Finnish company has also done a global partnership with Social networking sites to offer free access to social networks to their users.
