Google Chrome is world’s fastest and best internet browser for me and hopefully for other people as well. I am blogger so I need to login with multiple login accounts into the same website but on any browser you can login into only one account at a time. An alternative way is to install other browsers like Firefox to login to other accounts on the same website but I know many people would rather not install Firefox. Instead, to solve this issue, we can install other browsers that are based on Chrome engine. Using a Chrome engine based browser, we can access all the Google Chrome features and use them to login with other accounts on the same website.
There are many popular internet browsers based on Chrome engine which have similar functionality and speed as that of Chrome. Here, I am going to list some of the best Google Chrome alternative browsers which are based on Google Chrome Engine and you can even use the same Google Chrome extension as the one you are using on the original Google Chrome browser.
Comodo is a well known Antivirus developer and has other security related programs as well. They have also launched their own secure browser which is based on Google Chrome. You can use it as a Google Chrome alternative with similar features like speed and secure browsing. It can be installed on Windows XP/Vista and Windows 7 operating systems.
In Comodo’s words – “A Chromium technology-based Browser that offers you all of Chrome’s features PLUS the unparalleled level of security and privacy you only get from Comodo including a greater level of privacy than Chromium technology offers.”
It is a fine Google Chrome alternative because of its great combination of Chrome features plus Comodo security system. Together, both these features will guarantee extreme security during internet browsing. During installation of Comodo Dragon, you can enable or disable the SecureDNS sever feature. SecureDNS gives you an extra level of security and protects you from harmful websites that are flagged as spam and viruses distributer. During setup, you can choose between normal installation and portable installation in USB.
This is another internet browser which is based on Google Chrome. Earlier, it was known as ChromePlus but now its name has been changed to CoolNove. It can perform the same functions as Google Chrome. CoolNovo has some additional useful features such as Mouse gesture, Super drag, IE tab, etc. Also, CoolNovo is free with no function limitations and you can use it to surf the internet anytime. These extra features make it more useful than Google Chrome itself. You can download it in both portable and setup version. I don’t have more information about it as all the features are available in Chinese but you should still give it try as a Google Chrome alternative.
CoolNov comes with a built-in Adblock which helps to prevent the display of ads from most of the advertising networks. It also has a built-in download manager to download anything from the internet to any location in the computer.
To my knowledge, it was the first browser based on Chromium Source Code and it offers approximately the same features like Google Chrome. It is based on Chromium which is already an open source browser and Google Chrome itself is based on Chromium too. There are some privacy settings differences between Google Chrome and SRWare Iron browser. SRWare Iron does not support as many privacy and security features as Google Chrome but it can still be an adequate option to use as a Google Chrome alternative.
Last but not the least, we have Chromium – it is an open source Chrome browser and Google Chrome is in fact based on Chromium although it fails to give you the same features as Google Chrome. However, like other Google Chrome alternatives you can use it for basic functions. Some of the missing features in Chromium include automatic updates, missing flash plugins and other media related features.
