Encrypt and Secure SkyDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox Data Using Cloudfogger
All my regular readers are surely aware about the importance of security in the computer world. In this blog, I have reviewed lots of applications to protect files and folders on the computer. This is the age of online storage and it makes security more complicated than before. It becomes very important that we protect our Windows files and folders along with files and folders stored online too. All of my readers know that Google and Microsoft recently launched their online storage based service called Google Drive and SkyDrive respectively. To access all cloud storage services via computer and Android, their respective desktop and Android applications have been released. Now we can manage Google Drive, SkyDrive and Dropbox directly from the computer without going to the web panel.
In this article, I will cover a new application that helps to secure all your online stored files and folders on the computer. Computer side security is very important because normally your cloud service application is logged in on the system and anybody can access your files directly from the computer without opening your account on the web browser. Cloudfogger is specially designed to encrypt all your files in an easy, quick and secure way in the computer. It also allows you to share your protected files with your friends via Cloudfogger service.
How to use Cloudfogger ?
To use this application in Windows, first of all, you need to download the Windows client software from its website. You can get the download link at the end of this post. After downloading it, start installation; while installation, it will ask you to create a free account on Cloudfogger or you can choose the single user mode if you don’t wish to share any files with your friends.
After installing Cloudfogger, you will see a new drive added to your system (usually X:, if that drive letter is available, otherwise Cloudfogger chooses another available letter). This drive offers a virtual decrypted view on all of your other drives.
It is very easy to use after installing and creating an account. Just right-click on any file and select Cloudfogger then choose any option from its sub-menu. If you want to encrypt any file, only choose Fogg (Encrypt) option, to share any selected file click on Fogg and Share option. All encrypted files using Cloudfogger can be seen on the X drive created by Cloudfogger at the time of installation. So if you want to check all the encrypted files you can visit the X drive to check and edit any encrypted file directly.
Using Cloudfogger, you can encrypt all the SkyDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox files and secure them from all types of unauthorized access.
At present Cloudfogger is available for Windows and Android only but will shortly be available for iOS/iPhone/iPad also.
