By now, most Outlook.com users must have become familiar with this new email service and its various features. I have published lost of articles especially about Outlook.com on this blog. Today, I am going to cover the process of changing Outlook.com Email account password. It is a good practice to keep changing your password frequently for the safety of your account. To protect your account from hackers, it becomes important that you have a complicated password and even then you should change them after regular time intervals. Like other email services, Outlook.com also has the option to change password with a few steps which I have mentioned below.
1. Login with your Outlook.com account and click on the Gear icon then on More mail settings. It is the basic first step used most often and I have already explained this step in my previous Outlook.com related articles.
2. On the More mail settings page, click on Account details (password, addresses, time zone) and it will open a new tab (account settings page) in your browser. It is possible that Outlook.com will ask you to enter your password again due to security reasons.
3. On the account settings page, make sure you are in Overview tab and then click on the Change password option.
4. Clicking on the Change password option in step 3 will reload your current page with password changing option. Here you need to enter your current password and then the new password. You can also enable the check box titled Make me change my password every 72 days which reminds you to change your password after 72 days if you forget to do so. Finally, click on the Save button to save your password.
That’s it. Your Outlook.com password has now been changed.
